Medieval Europe Lesson!

The lesson below on Medieval Europe should help with understanding the Black Death, The Hundred Years’ War, and the Great Schism. It isn’t graded, but going through the lesson and interacting with the questions should help you get a better sense of the events and their impact during the Middle Ages. We will discuss it during Office Hours this Thursday, April 30!

Video #10: The Outsiders Special Edition!

I’m excited to post video #10, which focuses on the characters of The Outsiders, in particular the Greasers. There are also some discussion questions to think about that we will discuss in Office Hours this week!

Also, if you’re asking yourself, “Where should I be with my work by the end of this week?” …Here are some answers that will hopefully clear things up:

Novel Project and Americas Timebook should be revised based on my comments and DOUBLE CHECK if you have re-submitted them for a final grade by April 29.

The following items are due May 15 (complete final drafts):

1) The Outsiders (whole book, including vocabulary and questions)

2) Persuasive Research and Essay

3) Medieval Europe Timebook

If you would like feedback on any of your work, or need some help, just email me! I can make comments on Google Classroom, we can chat during Office Hours, or you can email me to schedule an individual Hangout session!

Video #4: Medieval Europe Timebook Options

I have just posted the latest installment on YouTube that will hopefully help you with the first two options listed for the Medieval Europe Timebook: 1) Roman Legacy, and 2) Feudalism. The good news is that I found PDF files of the History Alive textbook, so now you have the information for you–I attached all of the chapters you need on Google Classroom!

Also, the other good news is that we will be starting next week in Google Hangouts on the following schedule:

Tuesdays: 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Thursdays: 2:00-4:00 p.m.

I will email you later this week with the details–it is on a drop-in basis only, so it will be like office hours where you can ask me any questions you have!

I will still continue posting the YouTube videos on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays!

Video #3: The Outsiders

I have just posted video #3 on YouTube, and the main focus is to help you get jumpstarted with The Outsiders, or motivate you to keep going!

Another major point I make in the video is that I need you to submit the following assignments as soon as you can, because I will start commenting on this work starting Monday, March 30. 1) Novel Project (just need written part), and 2) The Americas Timebook (just the typed parts). THANK YOU! That way I can give you some feedback so you know how you are doing! 🙂
